Monkey mind is an analogy to the thousands of thoughts the human mind has every day.  It is a Buddhist concept that I first heard in Vipassana meditation.  I came up with the name when I was playing with several cutouts and a monkey got stuck in the middle of the head, a voice told me. Leave it like this.
